Job Description PURPOSE:
Supports the daily operations, maintenance and administration of NNI information systems. Demonstrate expertise of current technology NNI systems and develops, recommends, and implements system enhancements. Scope includes mobile devices, device management systems, and telecom expense management.

RELATIONSHIPS:
Reports to a Manager in IT Operations. Works closely with NNI other IT Operations personnel, ITCD, external vendors and other IT Groups. Interacts with Field Sales and Home Office personnel and NNIT.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assists in the development and implementation of departmental policies, procedures, and best practices
Assists in the preparation of standards and documentation within the guidelines established by NNI IT and ITCD.
Develops implementation plans and manages project schedules and deliverables while working within budget guidelines
Evaluates new technologies to ensure efficacy
Maintains currency in systems analysis methodologies and technology management
Manages changes, upgrades and the introduction of new technologies to the production environment
Participates in the departmental planning and budgeting process
Recommends technologies that are aligned with current and long term business goals
Configures, monitors, and troubleshoots servers
Installs and maintains network hardware and software
Presents and compiles analysis of system performance and capacity, with recommendations for improvements and/or solutions to problems.
Recommends and implements software, and evaluates software performance to ensure smooth operations
Recommends, tests and approves products for operation on the NNI infrastructure

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Approximately 10% overnight travel

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
5+ years of related experience
A BS/MS Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering
Knowledge of Blackberry infrastructure, Blackberry management and monitoring tools
Knowledge of client application support as well application functionalities and system requirements
Professional certifications (ITIL foundation / practitioner) preferred
Technical certifications (MCSE, MCSA, etc) a plus
Thorough understanding of mobile technology landscape and associated infrastructure, 3G, networking
Assists in the preparation of standards and documentation within the guidelines established by NNI IT and ITCD
