CLINICAL LEAD – SINGLE POINT OF ACCESS – WILTSHIRE

Hays Healthcare is again working with a market-leading client based out of Chippenham, Wiltshire. They require a Clinical Lead to manage the Single Point of Access team.

Job Role:

The Clinical Lead will be responsible for managing the SPA (single point of access) Co-ordinator team by covering and supporting their responsibilities. This will cover both ‘in hours’ within the Access to Care team and Out of Hours (OOH) as they coordinate the face-to-face medical provision within Wiltshire.

During clinical sessions the Clinical Lead will receive referrals from healthcare professionals offering advice in order to identify appropriate care pathways and undertake complex health need assessments over the phone.

The successful post holder will be required to work a variety of sessions clinically during office hours and at points during the out of hours period including, weekend, weekday evenings and Bank Holidays. This enables the post holder to have a good working knowledge of all clinical scenarios in order to lead the team expertly and effectively.

Skills and Abilities / Qualifications required:

* Registered Level 1 Nurse with current NMC registration / minimum of five years post registration experience
* Diploma / Degree in a relevant subject or evidence of work at Level 3
* Teaching and assessing skills with experience of delivering learning in clinical practice.
* Experience of managing and leading a team.
* Experience of mentoring.
* Demonstratable understanding of the urgent care pathway.
* Experience of working across organisational boundaries within Health and Social care.
* Understanding of end of life pathways
* A sound knowledge of Clinical Governance issues and an ability to establish systems in practice.
* To be patient focused.
* An effective team player – the ability to maintain effective working relationships.
* Excellent clinical judgement and decision-making skills.
* Ability to reassure patients, relatives and carers in crisis situations.
* Ability to assess, minimise and manage risk.
* Familiarity in the use of IT systems.
* Full Clean Driving Licence
