CLINICAL PHARMACY SPECIALIST

THIS POSITION WILL BE LOCATED IN FORT COLLINS Develops, implements, evaluates regional clinical pharmacy programs for patients, providers, pharmacists. Maintains a clinical pharmacy practice to impact patients at high risk for drug-related problems in area of expertise. Educates providers, pharmacists other health care professionals. Accountability for creating a culture of compliance, ethics integrity. Responsible for ensuring ongoing compliance for area(s) of assigned responsibility. Maintains knowledge of policies procedures performs in accordance w/ KP's Principles of Responsibility applicable regulatory requirements accreditation standards as they relate to the assigned department. Responds appropriately to observed fraud or abuse. Essential Functions: - Coordinates clinical pharmacy programs, evaluates drug utilization appropriateness, develops drug education plans strategies to promote cost-effective prescribing in area of expertise - Develops maintains a clinical pharmacy practice in the appropriate specialty environment - Provides drug information to all health care providers as well as members - Provides continuing education staff development in-services for pharmacists, physicians, other health care providers - Critically reviews the literature to provide updates on drug therapy - Supervises, directs, assists regional clinical pharmacists - Participates in School of Pharmacy activities - Develops participates in research activities - In addition to defined technical requirements, accountable for consistently demonstrating service behaviors principles defined by the KP Service Quality Credo, the KP Mission as well as specific departmental/organizational initiatives - Also accountable for consistently demonstrating the knowledge, skills, abilities, behaviors necessary to provide superior culturally sensitive service to each other, to our members, to purchasers, contracted providers vendors Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: - Pharm D degree w/ a specialty residency and/or fellowship in the appropriate area of practice - Licensure as a registered pharmacist in the state of Colorado experience in drug education or clinical pharmacy - Demonstrated ability to design, coordinate implement a drug education program in the Colorado region, to include research studies in addition to educational programs - Knowledge of research design methodologies, statistical techniques, applications of drug utilization reviews - Effective verbal, written presentation skills are required in communicating w/ physicians, pharmacists, health plan personnel - Must authorize a DEA drug screening - As a condition of employment, required to become a Board Certified Pharmacotherapy (Psychiatry, Oncology) Specialist within 3 years of hire - National Provider Identifier (NPI) Taxonomy code required at time of hire NOTE: THIS POSITION WILL BE LOCATED IN FORT COLLINS Rotate schedule. Works nights, holidays and weekends. Floats between departments/facilities/locations. Salary Range: $46.49 - $65.00 Hourly
