CMBS Credit Analyst

The role includes, collecting and analysing portfolio data, reviewing legal documentation and analysis of the transaction structure as well as communication with counterparties and internal stakeholders.

Within this position you will be expected to:

• Conduct in-depth quantitative credit risk analysis of the portfolio assets.

• Undertake qualitative assessments of the operational risks based on on-site reviews at the issuer level.

•Analyse on site properties with a view to forming forward looking opinions on quality, condition and marketability to occupiers and investors.

•Review all relevant laws and regulations, legal opinions and relevant documentation.

• Be expected to write credit analysis reports and press releases on rated structured finance transactions as well as research reports and conduct analysis on industry related topics

•Participate in criteria developments across products and regions

• Keep abreast of developments in the European, and to some extent global, commercial property sector through a variety of sources

 

The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and focused with a strong desire to succeed in a fast paced environment.

Key skills for the role:

• Posses a strong academic track record educated to at least university degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline.

• Background in real estate finance and keen interest in European commercial property;

• Understanding of securitisation structures, in particular CMBS,and more broadly fixed income instruments is also beneficial.

• Relevant experience in asset management, commercial loan special servicing, valuation and loan origination also an advantage

• Highly numerate and analytical (with advanced Excel skills).

• Ability to review and analyse legal contracts from a credit risk perspective (no legal qualification required).

• Good communication skills to allow delivery of analysis to both internal and external audiences

• Outstanding written and oral communication.

• Other European languages are an advantage.
