Job Purpose:
The CMM Programmer will conduct product layouts to ensure incoming and production quality and to calibrate the various measuring equipment used by the company.
Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned as needed):
- Train auditors and inspectors on new inspection standards
- Write programs using Zeiss Calypso software on Spectrum CMM for Layout Inspections
- Build portable fixtures and setups for different components for Layout Inspection
- Dimensional receiving inspection of all components
- Documentation and storage of inspection results and calibration results
- Reporting and reacting to inspection results and calibration results
- Maintenance of laboratory specifications, prints, logs, and manuals
- Maintenance of laboratory supplies and gage calibration cage
- Data entry, storage, archiving and maintenance of gage recall program
- Identification, storage and disposal of test pieces
- Incoming component lot acceptance or rejection
- Adherence to laboratory housekeeping and safety requirements
- Supplying assembly department with approved components
- Segregation and identification of rejected component lots and rejected gages
- Generating gage recall notices
- Special tests and duties including but not limited to:
· Fit and function testing
· Capability studies
· Gage RR studies
· Adherence to laboratory housekeeping and safety requirements
· Continuous improvement in knowledge and training
Qualifications:
High School degree required, Associates Degree or Technical Certification preferred
Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience preferably in an automotive environment
Knowledge of geometric dimensions and tolerances
Technical Competencies:
Proficient in the use of statistical applications; familiar with the use of SPC is a plus.
Must have basic computer knowledge (Excel, Word, E-mail)
Ability to write code to generate programs on a CMM using different Software Packages is preferred ( Zeiss Calypso, BS PC-DMIS, Zeiss U-Soft, Zeiss Unimeasure, BS MMIV)
