About the Job

This position is responsible for operating CNC machines to produce quality, conforming product in line with customer specifications, FMI processes and procedures, ensuring maximum efficiencies in the Machine Shop. As a technical machining expert, will be responsible for machining the more complex and difficult parts, generally acting independently and requiring minimal supervision/intervention. Responsible for training newly hired machinists in their area.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, however will deputize for the supervisor when necessary and impart technical knowledge and experience to other machinists. When training entry level machinists the position will assume responsibility for the basic safety and work practice supervision of the trainee.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
