Primary Objective of Position:
Work as a team member, be willing to do training. Keep his/her work area clean and free of safety hazards. Must complete his/her work in a timely manner to meet or exceed the times of the routing. Must machine a quality part, and complete operator inspection. Set up, operate and may carry through to completion a variety of close tolerance machining operations. Use or direct the use of necessary hoisting equipment to place on or remove parts from a machine or work center in a safe manner. May direct assigned helper on a set up. May perform tasks of a B or C Machinist. He/she requires minimum supervision.

Major Areas of Accountability:
1. Fill out all required QA and Customer Documentation.
2. Read routing tickets to determine sequence and method of machining.
3. Place move tag on all completed parts that are leaving the department.
4. Complete his/her work in a timely manner.
5. Work in a safe manner so no injury or damage will happen to themselves, equipment or parts.
6. Must wear and use all required safety equipment.
7. Performs to ISO 9001 Quality Standards and abides to OSHA and EPA regulations.
8. Responsible for demonstrating on-going commitment to Principles and Actions of Total Quality Process.
9. Read prints, understand geometric tolerancing and surface finish requirements.
10. Understand carbide tooling, feeds and speeds for the machining application.
11. Grind tools as necessary.
12. Use precision measuring equipment.
13. Demonstrate good knowledge of shop mathematics.

CNC Machinist:
• Have a basic knowledge of CNC controlled machine.
• Make program edits as needed.
• Has a basic knowledge to program the operator programmable machine tools, using the proper cutting tools, feeds and speeds.

• Must have the skills and ability to run some of the following machines:
1. Vertical turret lathes, boring mills.
2. Engine or turret lathes
3. Radial or horizontal drilling machines.
4. Planner mill, horizontal or vertical milling machine.
5. External or internal grinders.
6. Horizontal boring mill.
7. Layout his/her work.
8. Machine Tools
9. Misc. equipment such as key-seaters, broaches, band saws, sanding equipment, grinders, post drills, hydraulic
press, and propane, oxy-acetylene heating equipment.
