Meeting or exceeding department quality and production standards. *Abstracting documentation to choose correct CPT, ICD-9, HCPCS code according to standard coding rules and protocols. *Auditing EM (Evaluate Management) documentation and providing feedback and education to providers. *Detecting billing compliance issues and addressing appropriately. *Assisting in training Coder I's in coding and policy requirements of federal and state government agencies as well as coding department policies and procedures. *Assisting in provider education/orientation in policy requirements of federal and state government agencies as well as coding department policies and procedures. §Suggesting modifications to current policies and practices that are needed to coincide with requirements of insurance carriers. §Gathering information to prepare reports for the department. *Serving as liaison between Business Office, medical records and coding department. *Performing medical record audits when assigned. *Reviewing rejected code reports; verifying and/or correcting information in PCS. *Coordinating charge document revision. *Responsible for maintaining current knowledge of coding regulations for specialty/site using informational sources. §At the patient's request, providing estimated charges prior to a patient's visit. *The incumbent is responsible for adhering to established Service Standards.
