Coding Manager
Applicants possessing a Registered Health Information Administrator certification and bachelors degree (or have completed a transitional program for an RHIT with associate degree) must have three (3) years experience as a coder in a hospital setting. Applicants possessing a Registered Health Information Technician degree or the Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification must have five (5) years experience as a coder in a hospital setting. Applicants possessing a Registered Nurse (RN) credential must also possess a CCS or RHIT/A certification and have five (5) years of experience as a coder in a hospital setting. At least two (2) years of prior management experience, preferably as a manager or director. -Providing leadership, mentoring, and discipline to coders in a constructive, productive manner -Thorough understanding of the revenue cycle, payor practices, Medicare, Medicaid, Workers Compensation, appeal/denials process, and HIM departmental operations -Ability to work with physicians, non-physician clinicians, case managers, HIS, Patient Accounting, and Registration staff, hospital administration, and peers of all types Schedule 1st
