Convergys is pleased to invite you to apply for a full-time Collections Associate position based out of our Olathe site.

Dimension Scope:
Interface with customers via inbound and outbound calls for the purpose of collecting funds on delinquent accounts.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Initiate outbound calls to delinquent customers to negotiate payment on accounts due.
Motivate customer to pay outstanding balance in full or determine appropriate payment arrangement, as directed by client.
Evaluate customer responses, including requests for special payment arrangements.
Investigate customer claims of improper billing, billing disputes, other responsible parties, etc.
Maintain documentation and accurate records to contribute to regulatory compliance and department efficiency. Perform all duties in compliance with Client and Company work standards and policies.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education Professional Certifications:
High school diploma or equivalent experience.

Candidate Profile:
Proven customer interaction and problem solving experience is necessary.
Previous sales or collection experience helpful but not required.
Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing debt collection and ability to apply judgment to collection decisions.
Knowledge of basic computer operations.
Ability to work a flexible schedule (including evening and weekend shifts).
Courteous with strong customer service orientation. Dependable with proficient attention to detail.
Must be flexible with the ability to adapt to changes quickly and think conceptually.

Environment, Physical Other Requirements:
Ability to perform light hand activity work at a computer/telephone station in an office environment. Position is primarily sedentary. May stretch or stand at workstation for short periods at employee''s option, as long as such activity does not detract from the employee''s work, or interfere with other employees.
