Collections Manager
A new vacancy has become available for one of my clients in the High Wycombe area. The role is for a Collections Manager. The successful applicant will have a background working in a services industry dealing with very high value ledgers. This role requires someone with very good negotiation and business relationship building experience, you will also have experience in managing a team of upto 9 and ideally hold a ICM qualification
This is a fast paced role in a target driven environment, further requirements are as follows:-
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB:
- Management and motivation of the credit control team in a busy and fast moving environment. Involved in the day to day collection of debt and dealing with both Internal and External Customers to reduce our financial exposure and manage risk
- Achieve Cash Collection Targets and Reduce debtor days
- Manage risk by ensuring all Credit Checks are actioned and reviewed where necessary and informed decisions taken to reduce risk exposure.
MAIN DUTIES:
- Manage Credit Control - this is a high risk area of the business that requires strong and consistent management
- Understand Reciprocal trading agreements and liaise closely with our Purchase Ledger Team to maximise cash and manage exposure.
- Understand our Invoicing options and offer alternatives to maximise cash and support customer requirements
- Ensure Credit Controllers achieve cash collection and aged debt reduction targets
- Undertake at least monthly ledger reviews to ensure collection activity is being correctly undertaken
- Undertake ongoing training reviews
- Continual review and coaching of team members
- Continual review of credit control activity to maximise cash collection
- Provide daily, weekly, monthly reporting as required to demonstrate effective management and understanding of the KPI’s
- Closely monitor credit limits and risk assessment on the ledgers assigned
- Close liaison with Operational Managers and Teams to ensure speedy resolution of disputes
- Negotiate payment plans with delinquent customers as appropriate
- Offer initiatives to improve the Team performance is all areas
- Provide a positive customer experience
- Liaison with other Managers to deliver exceptional service to both Internal and External Customers
- Recruitment, assessment, training and motivation of team
- Manage telephone activity using Callmedia
- Compile and distribute call handling statistics using Callmedia reporting.
- To carry out any other reasonable job related tasks as the Company may require you to undertake from time to time.
- Excellent Communication skills are required for liaising with Customers both internal and external at all levels and Team members .
