As a Commercial Credit Sanctioner you will be responsible for underwriting a range of commercial facilities, with agreeable exposure not exceeding £2.5m secured, £1m unsecured. Ensure the consistency and excellent of credit underwriting and customer service personally and within the banking team and provide technical support to Corporate and Commercial Banking
Experience
- Understanding of a wide range of markets and products
- Strong team management skills
- Commercial/corporate credit experience namely mainstream SME commercial banking transactions, coupled with property based/commercial mortgage and asset finance transactions
- Extensive lending experience, preferably obtained in both credit and sales roles is essential
- Good knowledge of typical corporate banking product suite of products, including an understanding of derivatives
- Experience of handling complex underwriting decisions
- Support new business initiatives through the development of appropriate credit processes, policy and risk control/management framework
Responsibilities
- To analyse, appraise, evaluate, approve commercial lending applications ensuring robust and consistent standards of credit underwriting so that the credit risk undertaken is in accordance with the group's risk appetite, does not expose the Group to an unacceptable level of risk and remains appropriate at all times
- underwriting duties will cover all sectors and will also include ongoing development of related credit policy
- Assessment of applications will involve analysing complex loan applications, detailed account information, impact of likely relevant current/future economic conditions on the proposition, determining the quality and efficacy of security and assessing all credit and legal risks. Expsure size up to £2.5m
- Ensure ongoing monitoring and review of existing portfolios
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders in the business
