Commercial Finance Specialist

Manchester City Council, as part of Greater Manchester Combined Authority, is at the forefront of public service reform; fundamentally reconfiguring the way public services are delivered to improve outcomes for the wider community. This role will be instrumental in delivering two key priorities: Ensuring sustainable economical growth and connecting people to that growth by reducing dependency on public services and achieving long term social goals.

As part of a Greater Manchester team responsible for providing leadership to work on public service reform and the integration of health and social care, this role will deliver high-level financial support to complex, innovative investment delivery projects and models. This will involve working with key partners across public and private sectors on both a regional and national basis. It will prepare financial models to illustrate the financial impact of proposals, run sensitivity analysis, highlight risks and draw conclusions from the business cases presented, including suggesting alternative approaches and solutions. This is a senior leadership role that will provide the strategic link to client services and partner organisations. You will be a highly skilled communicator who exhibits integrity and creates rapport, trust and confidence and is able to conceptualise and present new, collaborative ways of achieving shared goals.

You will be an ambitious qualified accountant, preferably with a background in public sector advisory or corporate finance, an enabler, facilitator and co-ordinator and have experience of inspiring and stimulating others with energy, people focus and a practical can-do approach.
