Commodities Analyst
Global Commodity Operations supports the global Commodities business across the following business lines: Gas, Power, Coal, Freight, Emissions, Oil, FX, Commodity Index, Softs, Base Precious Metals. Trading is physical financial, OTC Exchange. Products range from vanilla derivatives to complex options and structured hybrid products.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for the accurate and timely invoicing, cash flow confirmation settlement of Commodity trades.
- Timely investigation and resolution of breaks and exceptions, pre and post settlement
- Adherence to break clearance targets.
- Root cause analysis on breaks in order to minimise/eliminate new breaks.
- Provide best in class client servicing
- Interaction with global business partners, Clients, Sales Trading, Middle Office, Finance, Legal, Credit, Technology, Brokers, Exchanges and other Client Service teams.
- Adherence to key controls and procedures
- Identification of process improvements and escalation of any areas of risk
- Maintaining detailed procedures and workflows
- Collaborating with global Commodity Operations teams in London and Houston
Requirements
- Word, Excel, Access. Ability to write v-lookups and macros Ability to liaise with Legal, Credit, Technology, Finance, Trading Desk, Brokers, Exchanges and Clients on related issues
- High level of accuracy and competency is essential
- Exposure and experience in settlement related processes would be an advantage
- Commodities experience (such as product or documentation knowledge) would be an advantage but not essential
- Ability to analyse and understand data
- Understanding of excellent Client servicing and what is important to servicing internal and external clients
- Ability to work to strict deadlines and prioritise workload.
