Department Overview:
Commodity Exotic Lifecycling Settlements is a global function providing transaction management and settlement services across Commodity Structured Products.
Main Function:
To perform pivotal role in the daily trade lifecycling, validation settlement process within an Operational environment. Primary function is to maintain and enhance controls around the sales and trading business within commodities. Involves reviewing relatively complex termsheets and having a medium level understanding of options. An appreciation of the risk points of a trade will be essential.
Main Duties:
To ensure smooth settlement of Index swaps, securitised notes internal trades.
To efficiently work through any pre post settlement issues that arise.
TO/T+1 Validation of trade bookings - Exception reporting resolution of any issues.
To work closely with Front Office, Sales, Trade Support PCG, IT to resolve any queries/issues.
Lifecycle management and - calculation of derivative structures working with settlements team and PCG to ensure smooth settlements.
To drive efficiency through process changes and system improvements.
Person Requirements:
Significant experience working within a derivatives support team. Fundamental understanding of derivative products including options.
Exotics or Structured products preferred although this doesn't have to be from a commodities background.
Candidates from flow backgrounds but with strong derivatives knowledge from a MO position within a large Investment Bank will also be considered.
Covering lifecycling, reconciliation, process control and settlements.
The role will suit candidates with educational backgrounds in numerate or science based subjects.
Commodity indices candidates will be considered.
Detailed knowledge of derivative product life cycling.
Understanding of securitised product issuance business, the creation, settlement, and control.
Strong Excel (Pivot tables, macros, V-look ups) and intermediate Access PowerPoint.
Maths, Economics, Science or Engineering grads preferred due to complexity of the products - though not essential.
Proven ability to deliver process change.
