Area Overview:
My client are a leading global hedge fund who are in the process of building their global commodities business. As an IT Manager for the Commodities EDM business my client seek's a highly pragmatic and motivated individual who shares our ambition for success and is capable of coordinating the landscape and delivery of all technological requirements needed to service this group globally.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leadership in technology management, including excellent communication, analytical and organizations skills. They will have a technical background, as well as business acumen and people management skills.
They must have demonstrated knowledge and experience with project management methodologies in order to work with intricate, multifaceted projects spanning multiple regions. They need a broad understanding of, and experience working with, hardware and software systems, including their installation, maintenance and life cycles.
Job Description:
*Managing the tactical, overall operations of all IT Data requirements to service and support the global Commodities business
*Working with the firm's senior IT team to help plan and coordinate both short- and long-term systems and implementation
*Serving as a liaison between nontechnical business units and IT, communicating technical information and plans
*Working alongside core IT department heads and drive the hiring of resources for service delivery, development and application support to meet the business needs
*Analyse workflow, delegating projects and meeting departmental goals set by the business
*Formulating and defining the objectives and scope of business systems while confirming to firm-wide IT governance polices
*Manage and provide IT for regulatory and compliance activities
*Make recommendations on hardware and software procurement to support business goals and direction
Required Skills:
*In-depth understanding of global Commodities data requirements
*Excellent technical background and the ability to be pragmatic with vendor selection
*Superb communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with nontechnical and IT teams
*Strong decision making capability
*Ability to gain understanding of regulatory and firm-wide control issues
*Strong execution skills for overseeing enterprise-wide technology initiatives
*Proven ability to manage teams, motivate and drive productivity
Preferred Skills:
*7 to 10 years' of increasing responsibility experience in technology, preferably for financial institutions overseeing enterprise data requirements.
*Strong project management skills
*Track record of implementing successful technology solutions as an IT or Project Manager
*Track record of acting as or managing a team of Business Systems Analysts
Education/Certification:
*Bachelor's degree in computer science or IT related field or equivalent work experience
