COMMODITIES PRODUCT CONTROL
RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
• Prepare daily PL for trading desks, including a review of inventory valuation
• Intelligently review and monitor trading activity; highlight and report unusual activity
• Stay informed of developments and issues in their area
• Identify any trades booked incorrectly in the firm’s trade processing systems.
• Use and interpret sophisticated risk systems
• Interact extensively across various departments in the bank including Trading desk,
Middle Office, Trade Support, Operations, other Finance groups etc
• Assess all associated risk inherent in trading positions, such as operational, market,
compliance or reputational risk etc
• Review valuation, accounting, legal and operational issues associated with trading
positions.
• Knowledge of financial products and market awareness.
• Month end procedures including preparation of accounts and postings to firm's ledger
• Independent price verification and valuation review
• Involvement in ad hoc projects typically to facilitate the trading of new products or to
enhance the existing infrastructure to improve control or efficiency
REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:
• Commodities experience not necessary
• Minimum of 2 years Product Control experienced required
• Ability to prioritize and multitask
• Strong at mathematics and quantitative skill
• Strong communication skills
• Computer literate and highly numerate
• Self confidence to interact with demanding internal clients
• Strong character and control mindset, able to work under pressure
• Team player
