Role Description:
Commodities Production/Application Support Manager / Team Leader required by a leading global investment bank.
You will lead the London-based CIT Business Support Team dedicated to the Commodities-Indexed Transactions Group (CIT).
CIT provides liquidity and market-making services across commodity markets to a large and diversified base of clients worldwide. Products include Base and Precious Metals, Oil, European and North American Power and Natural Gas, Coal, Emissions and Agricultural Commodities.
The CIT Business Support Team (six people) is one of two CIT IT sub-teams; the other team is the CIT Core Development Team. Both teams work on the trading floor in close partnership with CIT in order to scale up system architecture, advance trading functionality, integrate new business areas and improve post-trade processes.
The primary responsibility of the Business Support Team is to provide first line front-to-back production support for the CIT platform. The Business Support Team also works to improve the CIT reporting and business intelligence framework and develop reports and feeds. Core system development is performed by the Core Development Team only.
Key Responsibilities
Mandatory - Through a combination of delegation and hands-on-work, every day the business support manager must:
· Ensure the in-house CIT platform is running correctly.
· Manage user requests and communication with users.
· Manage the execution of critical time-sensitive production support tasks and the logging and prioritization of lower-priority tasks.
· Manage routine production support tasks and checks.
· Implement and improve the procedures followed by the business support team.
Optional additional scope 1 – The right candidate will also manage business analysts dedicated to CIT strategic projects. The business analysts engage in documentation, project management and prototyping.
Optional additional scope 2 – The right candidate will manage the reporting developers who are strengthening our data warehouse/business intelligence/SSIS architecture.
Qualifications
Skills and Experience
Experience as an IT Application Support Manager. Commodities derivatives knowledge and experience is preferred, but front office derivatives required as a minimum.
Ability to bring structure and process to a newly-formed production support team that has recently split from development
Ability to perform a hands-on team leading role, and form part of the on-call rota.
Ideally also have experience with Microsoft development solutions used by the team, primarily C# (.NET 4.5), SQL server (2008/2012), Sharepoint and SSIS.
