Commodities Quantitative Research Investment Strategy Portfolio
JOB DESCRIPTION
The purpose of the Commodities Investment Researcher is to maximize the investment strategies and purposes of the portfolio's return, by working alongside senior portfolio managers (PM) specifically in a cross commodities (power, gas, oil, power, metals, mining) front office team working alongside a Senior PM. This is a highly technical quantitative/quanta-mental portfolio research driven team who need a very specialist seasoned commodities quant to create new strategies and work on existing ones in a world class team.
Location: New York, USA.
The role:
- Create fresh and work on existing portfolio strategies for trading across multiple frequencies.
- Analyze research fresh commodities investment data across power, gas, oil, energy etc.
- Work with Portfolio mangers (PMs) to maximize and develop new commodities investment strategies.
- Carry out both statistical and econometric driven research to maximize traded returns.
- Generating new research ideas involved within commodities portfolios in seeking maximize performance.
Requirements:
- 3-10 years buy side Commodities investment strategy portfolio research experience using quant analysis.
- A proven track record covering portfolio research or/and quantitative analysis either at a financial firm or in a more finance related trading role at a top commodities firm.
- PhD or Double MSc in a quantitative discipline from a leading school and with a strong GPA.
- Ideally have a proven track record of research work i.e. white papers or publications.
- Have a problem solving mentality as well as strong analytical intuition.
- Able to communicate and interact with the business effectively.
