Commodities Research Associate
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, writing research notes analyzing oil market trends, interacting with the company’s global client base to provide timely information on market breaking news and long-term developments, maintaining databases on the global crude and oil products markets on a weekly and monthly basis, and conducting other tasks as deemed necessary by the Head of Research.
The successful candidate should have three main qualifications: (1) general knowledge of the global oil industry and specific knowledge of U.S. oil market activities, refinery optimization, and midstream infrastructure projects (1-3 years of experience as an oil market analyst preferred), (2) strong analytical and quantitative skills, and (3) demonstrated ability to write clearly and concisely (ideally with experience publishing applied research reports with a practical market or policy orientation). A bachelor’s degree in economics, political science, engineering, management, or related fields is required and an advanced degree in these fields is preferred. Salary will be determined according to experience.
