Westinghouse Electric Company has an exciting career opportunity in Supply Chain Management for a Commodity Specialist within the New Plants IC and Systems Integration group. In this position, the incumbent can expect to perform the following duties:
• Solicit quotations and analyze contract proposals while leading formulation of strategy and negotiation of pricing, delivery, and terms and conditions to satisfy requirements for highly complex and specialized materials, equipment, components, and services.
• Plan, develop, and implement global procurement and purchase resale strategies to maximize sales, billing, and margins while minimizing risk.
• Analyze and evaluate all elements of cost for commodity groups to identify and obtain cost improvements. Develop strategies to maximize supplier base cost/value.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and customers while mediating and resolving contract performance issues.
• Align sourcing strategies and procure materials and supplies in concert with company strategies/objectives.
• Monitor, control, and reduce sourcing/materials budget costs.
• Maintain external global contacts with key suppliers, licensees, partners, and industry sources.
• Understand and manage entire supply chain including primary and sub-tier suppliers for assigned commodity groups. Apply comprehensive knowledge of advanced concepts and practices to inventory management, procurement, computer-based inventory systems, reverse auction systems, and manufacturing operations.
• Conduct multimillion-dollar contract negotiations of significant technical complexity.
• Lead complex terms and conditions contract negotiations with key suppliers.
A successful candidate would be familiar with and/or have experience with the following:
• A Bachelor's degree in a business related field or in a technical area is required.
• Typically 6 to 9 years of Supply Chain Management experience is required.
• Demonstrated Negotiation skills.
• Significant user experience with SAP or a similar ERP system, reverse auction systems, as well as with the Microsoft Office suite of programs; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• A strong financial background is desirable.
• Analytical aptitude and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment with the technical and quality organizations leads to convey supplier progress on key contractual and project milestones
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and keep management informed on supplier/project progress and concerns.
• Ability to interface effectively with the legal organization to capture and convey the specification requirements and contractual needs and write these effectively into a contract format.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare comprehensive analyzes, procedures, reports and presentations.
