Specific Job Description Lockheed Martin Space Systems Company is a leading provider of high technology systems that support vital imperatives ranging from national security to space exploration. The marketing communications lead will play a key role in planning and implementing multi-faceted communication initiatives that position the company for business success in existing and emerging markets and that enhance its reputation among all target audiences. The successful candidate must be capable of providing strategic oversight and hands-on tactical execution when required. Specific Duties ? Develop creative marketing communications strategies and plans that promote progress on existing programs; enhance domestic and international new business efforts, and position the company in emerging and adjacent markets in the US and internationally. ? Provide strategic direction for team engaged in trade shows, advertising, production of marketing collateral materials and other efforts. ? Establish strong partnership with Business Development; Washington Operations; program and capture leads; customer counterparts; and others to remain current on key developments impacting marketing communications efforts. ? Collaborate with SSC integrated program communications leads, Business Development, and creative services teams to develop compelling one-company marketing communications products, leveraging consistent corporate and SSC branding themes, visuals and strategic messages. ? Actively engage in strategic branding and advertising campaigns. Serve as a key interface with Corporate advertising agency of record. ? Leverage new media venues as force multipliers for campaigns and messages. ? Assist with positioning SSC executives as thought leaders on industry panels and other highly visible forums. ? Implement ways to measure success of initiatives. ? Ensure SSC policies for developing and releasing material externally are followed, and reviews and approvals of the material are engaged in a streamlined fashion. ? Provide support to SSC Communications on other programs and projects as needed. Standard Job Description Develops, plans, and conducts public relations and goodwill programs to improve and support company business objectives with the public, industry, stockholders, and/or employees. Plans, prepares, writes and disseminates information utilizing print and broadcast media; magazines, speeches, scripts, intranet and Internet website. Submits photographs; assigns and/or approves artwork. May represent the company at press conferences, briefings and presentations on company issues. May participate and support advertising campaigns, and/or edit material for organization publications. May supervise work of outside consultants.
