Compensation Analyst (Mat Cover) recruitment
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Co-ordinate participation in market surveys including attending job matching meetings, data management and the analysis and interpretation of survey results.
• Respond promptly to ad hoc job pricing requests to enhance pay decisions and to support the Recruitment team.
• Prepare reports and presentations on pay benchmarking and trends, tailoring material according to specific business platform or business leader requirements, and share this information as required.
• Gather information from a variety of alternative sources on our competitive position, including monitoring of recruitment and resignations, media commentary and networking.
• Manage bonus planning data and quarterly accruals.
• Manage year end compensation cycle (September to December) including system preparation, data management, and liaising with HR colleagues.
• Liaise with Compensation COE members in North America and with HR team members globally to share information and respond to enquiries.
Prepare all reports for the FSA and compensation governance reporting.
• Prepare materials for quarterly meetings of the RBC Europe Limited Remuneration Committee.
• Conduct a monthly review to identify new Code Staff.
• Monitor guaranteed and conditional bonuses against RBC standards.
• Contribute to the education of HR colleagues and line managers about RBC pay policies and the many factors which influence pay decisions.
• Undertake a variety of projects and analyses, as required.

Required:

- High comfort level with information technology: Excel at least to intermediate level; explores technology solutions to maximise efficiency.
- Logical thinker; able to plan action steps to conclude assignments on time.
- Good verbal communication skills to discuss sensitive issues around pay and job levels.
- Assertive: able to challenge pay demands and encourage a broader perspective.
- Good written communication skills to draft presentations and reports.
- Approachable and flexible, willing to assist colleagues, committed to high standards.
Desirable:
Experience of investment banking industry or HR Compensation environment
Experience with McLagan salary surveys
Experience with Mercer’s ePrism
Familiarity with FSA Remuneration Code including Tier 1 Code Staff pay
Advanced Excel
Awareness of job evaluation principles
