Chevron's San Joaquin Valley Business Unit (SJV) is accepting online applications for Completions Engineer positions that will be responsible for planning onshore developments, workovers and well intervention program for wells in Southern California. SJV manages Chevron's onshore oil and gas production assets in Southern California and is headquartered in Bakersfield, California.
Completion engineers work as part of a functional group that supports asset teams. The position is responsible for performing technical completion engineering including completion design, cost estimates, project planning, operations support and review of rig and equipment requirements. The Completion Engineer prepares the completion programs and procedures, including endorsements and approvals. Selected candidates will participate in field reviews, peer reviews, optimization studies, and gather local operational knowledge/experience. The Engineer will apply Capital Stewardship principles, Decision Analysis, Risk Assessment and Completion Engineering practices. Completion engineers are expected to be active members of Chevron's Global DC Networks Communities of Practice in order to capture and share lessons learned and best practices with the work group and global DC community. This position may require additional operational development that would entail working on a 14/14 rotational schedule. If needed, the candidate must be willing to work this rotational schedule.
