Compliance Director – London or Brighton recruitment
Providing a wide range of support and technical expertise, our Compliance team makes sure that we’re making the right decisions for both our business and our customers.
Right now, we’re looking for a Director to oversee the compliance activities of the business and markets in American Express Payment Services Limited and a primary contact for the regulator. You will work as a Regional Compliance lead and will be responsible for managing the compliance program for all merchant acquiring activity in EMEA. You’ll be responsible for leading a team of Compliance professionals, be a permanent advisor to the AEPSL board of directors and have compliance responsibility for 10 proprietary GMS markets/branches in EMEA that are regulated by the FSA. In addition to this you will be required to build and maintain professional relationships and provide the necessary guidance to the business on compliance issues.
We’re looking for someone with a strong knowledge and understanding of UK and European regulatory and compliance requirements as applicable to AXP and the GMS business. With a logical approach and appreciation of the bigger picture, you’ll be able to take initiative in resolving compliance issues in a constructive manner to the GMS business. You’ll have strong management and communication skills with the ability to plan and execute against multiple concurrent tasks and priorities. Educated to degree level with an appropriate compliance qualification is desirable.
