An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Compliance Director to join an exchange and to report into the Global Head of Compliance.
The job holder will join a dynamic division responsible for providing advice on compliance issues. As Compliance Director, you will also be the sole lawyer of the team responsible for making the link between the legal analysis provided by the Legal Division and their concrete implementation in the Compliance framework. You will be required to follow up on the implementation of new regulation (e.g. MiFID2, new data protection regulation, CSD Regulation…)
The role is however a dedicated compliance position and the job holder will be required to contribute to the efficient communication of compliance requirements to management and to the staff via adequate training and other communication mean. You will help ensure business owners across the group are aware of their compliance duties and implement the adequate controls to mitigate the underlying risks. It will be essential to contribute to the execution and maintenance of the compliance risk-based monitoring and testing program being implemented in across the Group.
This is a high profile role and the job holder will be expected to develop relationships with key stakeholders in other divisions (e.g. Operations, Product Management, Commercial, Other support (Risk, Audit, HR). Together with the Legal department you will maintain knowledge of ongoing developments in the market and identify new and updated regulatory requirements.
The ideal candidate will be someone who is an accomplished compliance professional with relevant legal experience. You will have knowledge or awareness of internal control and risk management principles and will display excellent analytical skills. As the role will be based in Paris or Brussels, the preferred candidate will be fluent in French and/or Dutch and will be able to look at Belgian legislation.
