Compliance Group Enforcement Officer – Monitoring – 6 month contract recruitment
This role will sit alongside the Group Compliance Monitoring team which has responsibility for the design and operation of a risk-based approached to monitoring of the Group with regard to their adherence to relevant rules, regulations, codes and internal business standards, policies and procedures. Whilst sitting alongside the Group Compliance Monitoring team, the role will report directly to the Group Chief Executive Officer.
Responsibilities:
- To understand the risk-based approach which underpins the Group compliance monitoring programme(s) and to continually discuss the approach directly with the Group Compliance Monitoring Manager taking account of both internal and external risk factors that impact each of the regulated firms in the Group.
- To understand the specific compliance monitoring activity that comprises the Group compliance monitoring programmes and to discuss such activity as necessary, with the Group Compliance Monitoring Manager when considering the coverage of the activity for each of the regulated firms in the Group.
- Accompany as necessary the Group Compliance Monitoring team when undertaking face to face and/or desk based compliance monitoring reviews of all regulated firms in the Group.
- To assist the Group Compliance Monitoring Manager in the completion of internal quality assurance reviews of members of the Group Compliance Monitoring team.
- To work alongside the Group Compliance Monitoring team to understand all compliance monitoring and other regulatory remedial action items and to assist in the monitoring and enforcement to resolution of these items.
- Using the Group Compliance Monitoring team's remediation action tracking register and regular reporting/meetings, ensure that the Group Chief Executive Officer is directly aware, at all times, of the progress being made to remediate all action items identified.
- To perform issue assurance on completed compliance monitoring remedial action items.
- To immediately bring to the attention of the Group Chief Executive Officer any instances where remediation of internal compliance monitoring actions and internal audit actions have not been completed by the pre-agreed deadline and to discuss with the Group Chief Executive Officer and other senior management (including the Group Compliance Monitoring Manager) what sanction(s) should be imposed.
- To create well documented files to:
- 1) support findings and regular reporting to the Group Chief Executive; and
- 2) to evidence that any agreed sanction(s) are imposed by senior management
