The role will have a heavier emphasis on compliance so applicants must be able to demonstrate a minimum of 2 - 5 years’ experience in a compliance focused role and have a good grasp of FSA rules as well as the application of these in a hedge fund or asset management environment.

In regard to the legal side of the role, it is likely that you will have studied law at graduate (LLB) or post graduate level (LPC or Masters). Whilst the tasks on the legal side are maybe more straightforward (NDAs, IMAs, broker agreements, etc), the expectation is that you will have a good grasp of drafting and general documentation to be able to provide the level of support required.

The role has a strong advisory element as well as requiring constant interaction with senior staff across the business so you must have polished communication skills and be able to influence at all levels.

Candidates with compliance experience gained in a hedge fund or asset manager strongly preferred.

Good academics are essential.
