Compliance Manager
Job Description:
The selected candidate will be responsible for the Compliance practice in Singapore and the coordination of the Compliance practice activity in the Singapore office. The selected candidate will report functionally to the Director Compliance (Asia Pacific) and locally to the Managing Director.
Detailed job responsibilities include:
- Analysing the company’s regulatory compliance strategy and assisting with control recommendations.
- Liaising with local and regional regulators.
- Working with key senior management on all areas of corporate governance and compliance / audit requirements.
- Support management and line staff with problem solving and decision making in respect to regulatory issues.
- Develop, implement and as applicable enforce an adequate and consistent compliance framework including preparing and maintaining current Compliance related policies, procedures, manuals and guidelines designed to ensure timely compliance with all laws, rules, regulations, guidelines, codes of conduct and standards of good practice.
- Plan and conduct periodic reviews, assessments and monitoring.
- Ensure all relevant regulations and laws relevant to the conduct of business have been identified, communicated and checked periodically through the company's compliance program.
- Provide written reports on functional activity to the local management committee, Board of Directors and Group Compliance.
- Provide compliance support in client meeting scenarios
- Assume the responsibility of Money Laundering Prevention Officer and Data Privacy Officer.
- Provide Compliance related training to staff, management and the directors.
- Undertake special project work as assigned.
Successful Applicant
- Minimum University Degree or equivalent
- At least 5 years of relevant working experience in which minimum 3 years in a supervisory position is required.
- Experience in securities compliance, trust compliance and contract compliance
- Familiarity with Corporate Trust operations
- Familiarity with pension schemes, unit trusts, partnerships and mutual funds
- Independent, confident, self-motivated, pro-active and mature
- Presentation skills in a public setting
- Able to support and excel in a client facing environment
