Compliance Manager for Hong Kong
Main Duties
- Establishing and implementing a compliance framework and function for the Bank’s, Hong Kong Branch in line with the guidelines of Head Quarter and local compliance requirements.
- Act as local compliance contact for HKMA.
- Monitoring Hong Kong Branch business activities, sales practices, documents and marketing material, and clients’ statements to ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements.
- Liaising with Compliance team in Singapore with regards to client on-boarding process such as account opening, sales practices, client/product suitability and ensuring that these practices carried out are in line with local regulatory requirements.
- Incident Management. Identify, investigate, and resolve problems in a timely fashion following established guidelines.
- Creating awareness of risks to reputation and integrity and the consequences of regulations within the business unit.
- Limiting the risks to reputation and integrity by implementing the relevant regulations (HKMA, SFC) and Bank’s standards into the internal business operations.
- Responsible for drawing up and planning the Business Tracking and Compliance Monitoring Programme for the Hong Kong Branch
- Monitor behavior of employees is in line with the Business Principles and market practice.
- Advise and update Marketing Heads, Relationship Managers, and Marketing Associate on compliance requirements.
- Provide regular reports as required by HKMA and head quarter in Singapore.
- Work closely with ORM Manager of Hong Kong Branch on operational risk issues and ad hoc projects.
Requirements
Professional experience:
- Minimum 8 - 10 years of Hong Kong banking compliance related experience.
- Familiar with Private Banking activities.
- Knowledge of HKMA /SFC regulatory requirements.
Languages:
- Excellent in English (oral and writing skills).
Skills:
- Writing and communication, advising skills, interpersonal and presentation abilities, stress resistant.
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment.
Competences:
- Strong risk management perspective and experience, problem analysis and judgment, independence, persuasiveness, creativity, customer focus.
