Compliance Manager

General Responsibilities.

• Ensure that the firm maintains accurate, detailed and up to date compliance records across all areas of the firm's business
• Ensure the firm can respond to requests for information from the FSA and provide the requisite notifications to the FSA.
• Report to the firm's senior management team on a regular basis on all relevant compliance issues.
• Produce a formal annual compliance and Financial Crime/Money Laundering Report for the firm's senior management.
• Comply with the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000, the FSA Statements of Principle Code of Practice and the relevant FSA rules at all times.
• Comply with the relevant Compliance, TCF, TC and Financial Crime Procedures of the firm at all times.
• Ensure appropriate ethical standards exist with the firm.
• Produce, review and monitor the firm's Financial Crime Policy Statement on at least an annual basis
• Ensure the firm's Financial Crime/Money Laundering procedures are kept up to date at all times and staff notified of changes.
• Undertake a money laundering audit, if deemed necessary by the firm's senior management..
• Ensure all staff receive refresher training in anti money laundering prevention and financial crime with the frequency defined in the Risk Plan.
• Ensure appropriate records are kept for at least five years following the end of the firm's relationship with the client

Relevant Skills and knowledge
• IFA Compliance knowledge
• Good understanding of FSA Website and sourcebooks
• Good knowledge of the FSA Money Laundering section of the System and Controls Sourcebook (SYSC), Joint Money Laundering Steering Group (JMLSG) Guidance and other relevant financial crime legislation, including the Bribery Act.
