Compliance Monitoring – Life Insurance – Contract recruitment
This will include including monitoring, challenging and reporting on the adequacy and effectiveness of policies, procedures and controls put in place to ensure compliance with relevant business and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities include:
- Undertake risk-based monitoring reviews across a wide range of areas
- Ensure that trends and lessons learnt from monitoring activity are shared across the business/society
- Keep abreast of best practice and external developments in the area of monitoring and ensure that learning is applied.
- Provide regular, timely, relevant and concise reports on the findings, including recommendations for addressing any weaknesses identified
- Track and report on the progress of remedial actions and, where appropriate, guide management in implementing necessary improvements.
- At least annually, assist the Head of Regulatory Risk Compliance in preparing the Risk Compliance Monitoring Plan and presenting it to the Executive Committee and others as necessary.
- Regularly liaise with Internal Auditors to ensure that plans are aligned and that appropriate audit attention is given to higher risk regulatory areas and to inform the scope, frequency and timing of the respective Regulatory Risk Compliance and Audit Plans
- Undertake special investigations as needed in response to breaches or other issues arising
- Ad hoc support of projects, as required
Role Criteria
- At least 5 years monitoring experience within Financial Services industry
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to deliver high quality written work and reportin
- Ability to assess impact and relevance of issues and to communicate assessment in a clear, concise and articulate manne
- Ability to build strong and effective working relationships with business areas
- Good knowledge of current regulatory environment, including FSA requirements, and working methods
- Not afraid to provide appropriate and commercially aware challenge to business area management
- Relevant product and technical knowledge
