This role will support the development, management and delivery of compliance monitoring arrangements that verify Santander UK and associated companies' compliance with regulations.

As a Monitoring Manager, your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

Sound financial services / business knowledge developed from working within the Financial Services or associated industries or government bodies.
Ability to analyse and evaluate complex issues, and use sound judgement to determine appropriate actions/solutions.
Well-developed report writing and analytical skills.
Proactive, communicative, pragmatic and methodical approach, taking ownership for issues within compliance.
Ability to communicate and network effectively and adapt to new and differing situations.
Experience in people management.

As a Monitoring Manager, your main responsibilities will involve:

Managing a team of Monitoring Consultants to achieve completion of the annual Compliance Monitoring Plan
Active involvement in the development of the Compliance Monitoring Annual Plan.
Verification of the existence of policies and procedures through maintaining an up-to-date awareness of developments to European and UK legislation, drawing on direction and guidance by senior management as required ensuring continued adherence to the relevant parts of these policies and procedures.
Ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and regulation, formulating appropriate response to any findings.
Effective day-to-day management of key internal stakeholder relationships, in order to ensure that the business understands compliance initiatives and acts upon recommendations as appropriate.
Managing the special investigations capability within Compliance Monitoring.
Direct liaison with key business areas, in particular the Branch Network, Contact Centres and HR to define the standard and detail of required investigations being undertaken.
Review, research, develop and recommend systems, procedures and services within specialist areas to support quality assessments of compliance functions and, where deficiencies are identified, recommend improvements.
