Compliance Officer – Marine recruitment
This is a great opportunity for an experienced Business Unit Compliance Officer, to partner with the highly successful Global Specialties division within a leading global insurance broker. You will be sitting with the business and taking ownership for all Compliance matters - applicable regulation, internal policy, and procedures - across the Business Unit –in the UK and with some international involvement.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement business-specific Compliance strategy and plans
- Communicate compliance policy and procedures to Business Unit Associates.
- Work with the Business Unit to identify breaches and develop corrective action.
- Ensure that compliance training is completed and provide compliance training where necessary and appropriate.
- Provide advice, guidance and support to the Business Unit
- Manage monitoring reviews
- Advise on the design and structure of products, services and procedures
- Monitor regulatory changes and ensure that systems and procedures reflect such changes.
- Collate and submit relevant data from the Business Unit to Group functions, as required
- Ensure that all complaints are dealt with appropriately
- Liaise and co-ordinate with the Group Compliance Director, the Deputy Group Compliance Directors, the compliance function, legal and Internal Audit.
The successful candidate will have previous experience of the Marine Lloyd’s market and have experience of working directly with the business in a Compliance position. You will have a generalist Compliance background and ideally a legal degree although this is not essential. The right candidate will be pro-active and a self-starter requiring little supervision.
