Compliance Officer recruitment

We are seeking a Compliance professional to assist the Regional Compliance Officer with the provision of advice to management regarding their regulatory obligations and for providing assistance with the achievement of compliance with these obligations.

Based in Dubai and reporting to the Regional Compliance Officer, specific responsibilities will include:

• to provide and maintain the Compliance Manual of UAE;
• to monitor and notify changes / proposed changes to local regulatory requirements (Compliance/AML/CFT) and developments in the regulatory environment;   
• to provide timely and accurate advice and guidance to the business regarding Insurance Authority of UAE regulatory requirements (including Compliance/AML/CFT) (and other relevant local regulatory bodies) and AIG / Chartis corporate compliance policy;  
• to assist with the development of relevant training material;
• to assist local management with the development of systems and controls for the achievement of compliance with regulatory requirements (including Compliance/AML/CFT) (and other relevant local regulatory bodies) and AIG / Chartis corporate compliance policy.
• to assist the RCO with the preparation of the annual Compliance Monitoring Schedule of Bahraini Entities;
• to manage the monitoring function in accordance with the Compliance Monitoring Schedule;
• to provide advice and guidance to local management and other relevant staff regarding necessary remediation of regulatory issues identified through the carrying out of compliance monitoring and other sources;
• to monitor the progress of remedial actions undertaken in respect of the regulatory issues identified through the carrying out of compliance monitoring and data sources;
• maintain the Remedial Actions Log

This position will suit a highly analytical and details-focused person, with proven organisational abilities.  Knowledge of the UAE regulatory frameworks will also be essential for success.

The ability to analyse complex situations whilst still maintaining a commercial focus is necessary and a knowledge of retail and commercial insurance products is desirable.

The successful candidate will be an Arabic speaker, will possess a professional qualification in compliance and AML and will have held a similar compliance position within a reputable organisation.
