Opportunity

- To provide assurance to the PRUPIM Board that the compliance framework is robust and operating effectively.
- Champion the development of the compliance framework across PRUPIM.
- Be a point of contact for business areas to provide guidance on all compliance related matters.

Key responsibilities
- Responsible for delivering the Annual Compliance Plan.
- Maintain an effective relationship with MG Legal and Compliance and other internal stakeholders.
- Develop and embed a structured compliance monitoring plan, working with MAGIM Compliance in relation to the regulated activities.
- Take responsibility for delivering specific thematic reviews as part of the overall Risk Management and Compliance Plan and report to the Risk Committee when appropriate.
- Undertake compliance monitoring as directed by MAGIM Compliance and PRUPIM Risk Committee.
- Provide regular monitoring reports and a detailed quarterly Compliance report to PRUPIM Risk Committee.
- Co-ordination, monitoring and reporting of executive level complaints.
- Timely escalation of emerging risks and issues.
- Provide guidance to business areas on unregulated compliance matters.
- Subject matter expert on all internal compliance policies and provide guidance to PRUPIM staff when required.
- Monitor regulatory developments with an impact on PRUPIM and report to the Risk Committee on a regular basis.
- Oversee Anti Money Laundering and Customer Due Diligence processes within PRUPIM. Manage case referrals, escalating to MG MLRO or Prudential Group MLRO as appropriate.
- Oversee the PRUPIM Approved Persons process, obtaining guidance from MAGIM Compliance when required. Perform competence assessments of proposed Approved Persons. Review all documentation prepared by HR prior to submission.
- Manage Financial Crime agenda.
- Manage restricted dealing list.
- Understand and demonstrate positive behaviours in line with our corporate values.

What we are looking for

- Has previously performed either a Compliance role within an Asset Management firm or a Property firm.
- Detailed understanding of the UK Regulatory Framework.
- Detailed understanding of Data Protection, Anti Money Laundering Fraud legislation/procedures.
- An understanding of direct and indirect property investment and the associated compliance issues.
- Knowledge and understanding of risk management tools.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and individually when required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate at all levels.
- Ability to challenge business areas and senior management in an effective and professional manner.
- Effective management of multiple tasks and competing priorities.
- Effective report writing skills.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills.
