Compliance Officer (REIT) recruitment

The Company
Our client is a publicly listed industrial real estate investment trust.

The Role
The overall function is to work closely with the Compliance Manager to provide support in all risk and compliance related matters.

You are required to act as a Compliance Officer, on temporary basis, in respect of the group businesses as required. You need to assist the Compliance Manager to maintain the risk and compliance framework and compliance matrix, policies and procedures relevant to the group business, including the licensed operations. You also need to assist the Compliance Manager to ensure at all times that operations comply with the Companies Act, Securities Futures Act, SGX-ST Listing Manual, Code on Collective Investment Schemes including Property Funds Guidelines and any other relevant rules and regulations relevant to the operations.

You are required to assist the Compliance Manager to perform compliance management, which includes monitoring compliance policies, processes and procedures by various departments / stakeholders. You need to assist the Compliance Manager to promote a compliance culture within the Firm, in the development and education of employees for the Firm related to Compliance initiatives, in ensuring cooperation with all inspections or investigations, including, providing responses to all requests for documents and other information.

You will be working cooperatively with all other departments within the Firm to help develop and maintain a compliance culture, including, but not limited to, responding to other departments' requests for assistance or information, as appropriate. You will assist the Compliance Manager in corporate secretarial / board support, in organising director and management education with regards to new or changes in legislation or rules that will impact the company or the obligations and liabilities of Board members and Management.

Your Profile
The successful compliance officer will be a degree holder, preferred disciplines in Law or Accounting / Business Administration. You will have minimum 3 years' prior experience in compliance, preferably with an MAS-regulated entity. You will be adept with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), has strong attention to details, and is self-motivated and able to motivate a team. You will have good investigative skills and ability to analyse and assess issues quickly, with strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
