Compliance Officer – Sanctions, AML recruitment
I am currently working on 3 Sanction roles across 2 top-tier Investment Banks based inLondon.
The roles are:
1 Director level - salary range is £100 - 125k basic
1 Associate Director level - salary range is £70 - 80k basic
1 Analyst level - salary range is £40 - 50k basic
Responsibilities:
- Provide advice, guidance and support to the AML local advisory teams of the relevant businesses on sanctions regimes and related policies, including advice regarding alerts produced by payment and client screening systems.
- In collaboration with the Senior Compliance Managers and Policy Manager in the MLRO Function, maintain responsibility for oversight and distribution of sanctions related policies and guidance.
- Manage all sanctions related issues from communication of new sanctions to delivering of training.
- Ensure a consistency of approach to Sanctions across all businesses and ensure that the sanctions framework remains appropriate and in line with regulatory requirements and Group policies. Where required, to provide proposal for improvements where sanction systems and controls should be enhanced.
- Manage sanctions reporting activities including Sanctions breaches, Transaction Monitoring Alerts summary and input into the MLRO reports.
- Coordinate across theUKand European businesses, all Sanctions, Terrorist and Group searches issued by Group Compliance. Provide advice and guidance on any follow-up action required and ensure records are appropriately evidenced. Arranges for closure of accounts as required following confirmation of matches.
- In collaboration with the Senior Compliance Managers in the MLRO Function, support the AML local advisory teams in the evaluation and implementation of relevant sanctions related processes and systems in respect of business and Group driven projects. Conduct thematic sanctions reviews as necessary.
- Performs sanction reporting to HMT and other relevant bodies.
- Deal with HM Treasury in respect of potential and confirmed sanctions matches and issues arising from proliferation finance legislation.
- Ensure Sanctions training is relevant, updated and completed by all staff as required. Provide face to face training as required to operational sanctions specialists.
- Improving the general compliance awareness of Sanctions risks.
- Improve business responsibility for Sanctions by regular dialogue with Senior Business Heads.
- Foster a good working relationship with Group Compliance, including keeping abreast of key developments and any changes to Group policies, procedures and practices regarding sanctions.
- Ad hoc tasks including production of specialist reports as requested by the MLRO.
Candidate Profile:
- I am looking for candidates with a good understanding of Sanctions and Financial Crime.
- Ideally from a previous Banking background
