The firm has the first two investment professionals in place and as part of the set up process they are looking to hire an experienced candidate to join them in a blended role with responsibility for Compliance and Operations/Middle Office.

The successful candidate must have a proven track record in compliance as it is likely that they will be registered in the 10 11 controlled functions for the firm. They must also have extensive fund management / hedge fund operations experience.

• Provide compliance advice to the business where necessary

• Liaise with external compliance consultants to ensure that all

• Act as main operations / middle office contact for the firm

• Liaison with the outsourced administrator

The successful candidate is likely to be registered, or have recently been registered, in the 10 11 controlled functions or have demonstrable compliance experience that suggests they’re ready to step into this function. This experience will most probably have been gained in a hedge fund or fund management firm.

Regarding operational responsibilities, candidates should have extensive NAV related funds experience and understand how a small firm utilises administrators to allow them to maintain the necessary level of operational control for the firm and maintain adequate internal records. With the set up of the firm is it currently stands, operational and control responsibilities focus primarily on post execution.

As this is a small firm, it is important that candidates have experience in both compliance and operations as outlined and are prepared to roll up their sleeves to cover whatever tasks are thrown at them. This is a hands-on role, however it is envisaged that as the firm grows, there will be opportunities to develop and grow the role to take on additional and broader business management responsibilities.

This is an important hire for the client and they are looking to interview candidates with relevant experience as soon as possible.
