We currently have an opportunity for Compliance/Risk Manager to work in our corporate office in San Jose, CA.
In this key role, you will establish and implement an effective compliance program to prevent illegal, unethical or improper conduct, as well as implement and oversee the ongoing administration of our program for maintaining the privacy of personal health information as required by HIPAA. This includes monitoring and reporting the results of the compliance and ethics efforts of the company by providing guidance to the board and senior management, responding to alleged violations, consulting with General Counsel as needed, identifying potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk, developing corrective action plans and establishing an effective compliance communication program. Additional responsibilities include assuming a leadership role in the HIPAA team, establishing the organization-wide HIPAA team, conducting periodic information privacy audits to monitor compliance and ensuring that all employees, volunteers, independent contractors, business associates and other third parties receive the necessary privacy training.
This position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, at least 10 yeas of experience in a healthcare organization, demonstrated leadership ability and effective verbal and written communication skills. Must have familiarity with healthcare laws, regulations and standards. A Master's degree or JD is preferred, while an understanding of coding and reimbursement systems and process improvement would be helpful.
