Computer and Information Systems Security Officer

The IIS Information Assurance Management Team is seeking a candidate to provide Information System Security technical activities. The candidate will participate as part of the Information Assurance Management Team which conducts information security assessments to protect the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of company information and information systems, program consultations, incident response and system certification. The selected individual will serve as the Information Assurance Officer (IAO) for unclassified Information Systems (IS), but will also support classified system repairs and data protection in program areas. Duties include but are not limited to: information security protection activities (anti-virus, whole disk encryption, advanced persistent threat, data protection, system patching, technology evaluation, free and open source software evaluation), security service management,, governance and compliance activities. The IAO will act as the Information Security Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all aspects of Information Security for all IIS unclassified networks. In addition, the individual will determine corrective actions, prepare and submit reports in accordance with government and corporate directives. This role will also require technical knowledge within multiple IS physical, and technical environments to ensure external compliance audits will be successful. Requirements: · 6+ years of applicable experience · Experience with computer security certification and accreditation methods of conducting proactive security assessments. · 2+ years of software programming. · Demonstrated ability to design and implement information system and network security solutions. Ability to provide technical expertise and guidance on the methods and approaches to information assurance as well as the administration of security tools that control and monitor information security. · Experience with computer incident response. Demonstrated ability to conduct information system security risk analysis to determine the appropriate security requirements. · Experience in monitoring system security vulnerability and compliance status with respect to information continuity policies, procedures, and guidelines. · Excellent communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills · Ability to effectively interact with external personnel on technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations · Qualified applicants may be subject to a security investigation and must meet minimum qualifications for access to classified information. U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance . Desired Skills: · Experience with host based protection systems. · Experience with forensic technologies and tools. · Technical proficiency in security-related hardware and software. · Technical proficiency in securing cloud computing and software/platform/infrastructure as a XaaS service (X as a Service). · Knowledge of role-based authorization methodologies, authentication technologies, and security attack pathologies. · Demonstrated leadership, teaching, and mentoring skills. · Demonstrated capability to successfully lead and implement change. · Strong diplomatic interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with managers, as well as users in geographically diverse locations in quick-response situations. · Information system security certifications such as Security +, CISSP, ISSEP, etc. · Current (5 year update) Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) is highly desired Required Education (including Major): · BS degree in Information Assurance, Information System Security Management, IT, Engineering, Computer Science, Management of Information Systems or other technical degrees OR equivalent combination of education and experience (BS degree = 8 years applicable experience).
