Construction Buyer recruitment

Role

Bloomberg is looking for an experienced buyer to join their EMEA Purchasing group based in the London offices. The role would primarily be focused on Facilities soft and hard services including construction and building maintenance, such projects occurring throughout the EMEA region. You will show best practice experience along the workflow from creation and review of scope documents, PQQ, RFP, bid levelling selection, contract negotiation as well as vendor on-boarding and management. The successful candidate will be flexible enough to work on the tactical procure to pay work-stream in SAP, creating PO documents as needed. Ability to quickly generate credibility and work in cross functional teams with global Category Managers, senior EMEA Business Unit management and other areas including Supply Chain, Legal and Accounting is essential. The successful candidate will display the ability to take ownership of work items including special projects and be able to work with minimal supervision when required.

- Responsible for commodities or assignments requiring application of basic purchasing principles, theories and concepts
- Ensure timely acquisitions of product or service requirements from known sources of supply
- Participate in continuous learning and professional development activities
- Comply with purchasing policies and procedures

Essential Requirements

- BS/BA degree or equivalent combination of training and experience
- Relevant procurement experience
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow-through from inception to completion of a given task
- Knowledge of experienced purchasing strategies and protocols
- Superior customer service with strong communication and presentation skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of SAP procure to pay or similar ERP systems a plus
- Experience of completing complex projects in multiple EMEA locations highly preferable
