Position Description:
SunGard provides an integrated solution suite for asset/liability management, budgeting and planning, regulatory compliance, and profitability. SunGard's banking solutions also manage all aspects of universal banking including back-office transaction processing, front-office multichannel delivery, card management and payments.
The position of Global Collections Manager or Head of Collections for the Banking Segment, reporting to Segment Finance Officer, is responsible for overseeing the collection efforts of approximately $60M accounts receivable balances across the world. The manager is also responsible for the supervision of the collections and cash applications staff (currently a team of 3-4). In addition, the Manager will also work closely with the Shared Service Centers as well as performing credit and collections for the largest and most sensitive customer accounts. The Manager would also work closely with the Controllers of several business units concerning reporting, collections, General Ledger matters, Bankruptcies and audit reporting requests. The job does not require performing credit analysis on potential customers.
Key responsibilities are the following:
? Based on the Monthly Aging, provide the Segment Leadership with status of the AR balance, collections efforts at the customer, product, business unit, and regional levels
? Placing direct phone calls and e-mails to customers that are past due as necessary
? Works closely with the Billing Department to implement processes and policies that contribute to accurate invoicing
? If service were to be stopped for non-payment, this position would be responsible for approving the sending of a final demand letter
? Relays to Controller any and all accounts that need to be written off to bad debt
? Reviews and approves documentation necessary to create the Credit or Debit Memo necessary to true up a customer account
? Oversees and assists with the clean up of unapplied cash, short paid invoices, and Foreign Withholding tax
? Addresses ongoing customer complaints concerning billing or service rendered and works on complaints of service failures with designated departments
? Assures timely collection of monies due to corporation
? Monitors and reports on deviations from credit standards
? Assures timely and accurate invoicing
? Manages cash application making sure all cash receipts are applied properly
? Assures that the companies standard template regarding invoice sample is in place for every customer
? Conducts credit checks on customers when needed
? Makes recommendations to improve quality of invoicing and collection procedures
? Weekly reporting of invoicing totals/aging totals/cash receipts/invoice adjustments
? The Global Collections Manager will be required to manage a staff based in London and Singapore.
Position Requirements:
? College degree in Finance required
? This position requires the incumbent to have at least 6-8 years of experience in collecting, accounts receivable or a related area
? This position requires good written, oral and reading communication skills in order for the incumbent to accurately obtain, interpret and transcribe a variety of communications and instructions
? Proficiency with Microsoft Office for Windows (Outlook, Word, and Excel) is required
? This position requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to adjust and interact with all levels of personnel
? Incumbent must be multitask oriented, organized, set priorities and meet deadlines and take pride in one's work
? Has supervisory responsibilities on special projects concerning Collections
? Excellent English written and verbal communication skills are a must
? Managerial skills and experience are a must
? GetPaid Software experience a plus
? Preferred Language Skills in addition to English: French and German.
