Construction Manager – Project Engineer – Food / Biotech
This rapidly growing biotechnology company is seeking an experienced manager to provide leadership to all the construction activities for the facility’s capital projects. This person will supervise and oversee all contractors, project schedules and budgets, and will be the key liaison with the other groups within the company to ensure construction projects are executed on budget and schedule, while meeting customer requirements.
Compliance to company, government and GMP standards are also key benchmarks.

Requisites
· Bachelor or Master degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management.
· 10+ years experience in project management, and managing projects of at least $5 million.
· Project Management Profession (PMP) preferred.
· Experience using the SAP maintenance functions, as the company is now transitioning.
· Demonstrates knowledge of a construction project, including but not limited to the plans and specifications, restrictions and right of ways, permits, test procedures, schedules, shop drawings, utility locations and information.
· Develops and maintains a professional working relationship with construction contractors or subcontractors, clients, and engineering/architectural design team.
· Responsible for on-boarding Contractors to the site and ensure proper orientation and SHE training is conducted for every individual before the start of work.
· Monitors and records contractor’s work performance with the contract requirements and conducts final inspections, prepares punch lists, and collects documentation for closing out of contracts.
· Develops and maintains plant capital construction budgets and forecasts for site, prepares daily status reports, maintains record document information, and monitors adherence to manpower estimates and schedules.
· Identifies unforeseen conditions or errors in the plans or specifications and communicates such to the attention of their supervisor or the client.
· Reviews and recommends progress payments to the contractor.
· Follows all safety and protocol guidelines and report unsafe conditions. Works with Safety representatives on safety issue resolutions and serves as first level incident escalation.
· Ensures redline drawings are generated from the installation process and ensure these changes are submitted to the Engineering Group in timely fashion.
· Execute and track installation documents and maintain reports to the project manager pertaining to quality checklists, redline drawings, schedule tracking, and resource issues.
