Consultant, Executive Remuneration & Governance

The Executive Remuneration Governance team provides advice and guidance relating to the remuneration of the CEO, Directors and Executives. The team monitors regulatory changes and market practice, developing policies and new or modified frameworks for recommendation to the Remuneration Committee for approval. We also manage and advise on remuneration for other senior employees, and produce the annual Remuneration Report and other required remuneration disclosures.
Role
Contribute to the team in providing specialist advice regarding emerging remuneration and from this contribute in developing Group-wide remuneration policies, with a focus on executive remuneration. Contribute to the preparation of remuneration disclosures, employment contracts,and other ad-hoc analysis and modelling relating to executive remuneration in CBA and in the market.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a sound theoretical and commercial understanding of executive remuneration. Stay up-to-date in external market trends, current and future business needs and the external executive remuneration regulatory framework
- Work with the team providing specialist advisory services to executives, business unit HR managers and Remuneration Relationship Managers, including management of enquiries generated through the Executive Remuneration dropbox
- Contribute to the review and production of the Group's executive employment contracts and exit quotes, and manage other executive remuneration arrangements as required
- Prepare business cases for the approval of executive remuneration arrangements including sourcing relevant market data
- Coordinate annual remuneration review for CEO, Group Executives and Executive General Managers
- Draft Remuneration Committee papers as required
- Provide input to the preparation of the Group's annual remuneration disclosures (including the Remuneration Report) and supporting material for Annual General Meeting, complying with relevant regulations and legislation
- Research and evaluate the executive remuneration arrangements of other organisations
- Liaise with internal and external advisors to obtain expert advice relating to taxation, legal and accounting arrangements for executive remuneration.
Requirements
- Track recordin remuneration areas within a large, complex company
- Analytical skills including proficient use of Microsoft Excel.
- Project management skills
- Business writing skills
- Degree (or part completion of) in Human Resources, Finance or a Business related field.
- Demonstrated ability of solving problems by working consultatively with others and demonstrated capability to take the lead and make decisions
- Understanding of financial services environment
