This description is for the position of Content Developer for the National Meeting Group with the Institute for Learning which serves as a think tank, a design center for innovative professional development systems, and an educator of core groups of school and district professionals, providing the resources and training that educators need to enhance learning opportunities for all students. The Content Developer assists University Faculty and Institute for Learning Fellows in the design and development of professional development, training and curricular materials to be used in school districts nation-wide. This position involves compiling research to be used as scaffolding in teacher learning, writing and/or creating portions of session/training materials when needed, organization of session materials and/or collaborate with Fellows in their design and managing the final layout, formatting and production. In addition to the development of instructional materials, the candidate is also responsible for the project management component of the work within the district. This responsibility includes configuring schedule for completion of deliverables which includes setting, implementing, and monitoring deadlines for each phase of materials as well as communicating with district personnel ranging from the superintendents office to school office staff, regarding all needs, requests, tasks, supplies, notifications and shipments affiliated with current or past sessions. The successful candidate must be multi-task oriented with scrupulous attention to detail and possess both strong organization and writing skills. Necessary computer skills include Microsoft Office Suite with a strong command of PowerPoint and Word; expert level of proficiency preferred. Strong writing skills and thorough knowledge of various style guides (APA, New York Times Manual, MLA) a must.
