Contents Verification Clerk
The contents verification clerk is accountable for verifying, processing, and balancing the contents of incoming bank deposits against the amount declared using an internal computer system. They must ensure productivity standards are achieved and Service Level Agreements are met or exceeded by following well-defined procedures and guidelines and escalating issues as appropriate.
Key Responsibilities
* Verify balance incoming items against client transaction reports (e.g. deposit slips, armored car carrier summaries, tracking logs) using a cash counter machine to ensure accuracy
* Verify information on cheques against client instructions to determine appropriate processing requirements
* Process post items using an in-house system to meet established guidelines. Process adjustments (debits/ credits) as required
* Document foreign currency prepare exchange rate forms
* Bundle/ bag cash to sell to other departments at designated times, following documented procedures
* Dispatch other processed items to appropriate areas for further processing
* Perform end of day balancing to ensure all items have been processed accurately
* Complete internal tracking documents
* Cross train in other positions to assist provide support to other team members during peak times
* Complete various clerical duties as required
Skill Requirements
* Strong Computer Skills
* Excellent numerical keying skills
* Aptitude for numbers and/or banking
* Work in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to meet exceed production targets
* Strong organizational skills
* Work independently
* Perform repetitive duties such as sitting, maintaining visual concentration, repetitive hand/ finger movements, occasional lifting
* Terms of Employment: Part-time mornings, days, and evenings, on-going (Mondays Tuesdays 4pm-8pm; Wednesdays to Fridays 6:30am to 10:30am)
* Salary: $10.10+ per hour
* Location: Burnside, NS
* * Own transportation is required due to some early start times*
* * Approximately 20 hours per week. Candidates must be flexible regarding hours of work*
* *Candidates must pass a criminal record check*
