IT Program Management Leader - Commercial Technology Solutions
As our "Commercialization Domain Program Management Director" you will be accountable for all program and project management functions associated with our Commercialization Domain - which is focused on delivering commercial technology offerings. Person will be responsible for leading a team of 10 - 15 program and project managers to deliver on our Commercialization agenda. This is a highly visible role which will interface with executives both inside and outside of UnitedHealth Group.
Specific responsibilities will include:
- Planning, managing, and leading the Commercialization Domain portfolio of technology programs, projects and releases
- Ensuring delivery against the objectives as set forth by the Commercialization Domain technology and business leadership
- Initiating technology project definition and planning activities
- Partnering with Business Program Project Leads to ensure proper alignment, integration and visibility
- Leading, managing and mentoring a team of Program and Project Management professionals
- Driving consensus and decision-making with business, IT and executive management
- Influencing senior leaders to balance competing priorities
- Leading matrixed teams of onshore and offshore consultants, business and IT resources
- Monitoring global program activities to ensure programs are delivered on scope, on time, on budget and on quality
- Providing expertise and guidance on overall program direction and scope management as needed
- Maintaining visibility on day-to-day activities with project teams AND ensuring sufficient face-time with key executive stakeholders
- Providing status reporting to internal and external stakeholders on a regular basis
- Mitigating risks and addressing program / project obstacles as needed
- Participating in the definition and roll out of formal Program Management processes for Agile development initiatives
Candidates will possess:
- 15 + years of program management experiences and 10 + years leading multi-million dollar IT program portfolios
- Demonstrated people leadership and management skills, including direct experience leading, managing and mentoring teams of project and program managers
- Successful track record of delivering programs on scope, on time, on budget and on quality
- Proven ability to get into the details of programs / projects in order to drive them to fruition
- Well honed communication and relationship management skills
- Ability to communicate technology matters to business partners, senior executives, and strategic partners
- Prior experiences interfacing in the cSuite of large organizations
- Proven ability to obtain results in a large corporate, matrixed environment
- Capable of gaining support for initiatives through influence and use of business rationale
- Proven ability to make and implement tough decisions
- Innovative ability to identify opportunities to apply technology as a strategic enabler for the business
- Previous experiences leading programs in commercial software companies desired
- Prior experience leading programs / projects which used Agile methodology to deliver software preferred
- Relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent experiences; advanced degree preferred
