Job Summary: The Continuous Improvement Manager will be the ISO Management Representative for the Urbana facility. This manager will schedule, lead and facilitate 5S lean events and projects aligned with the business objectives of the organization. It also drives continual improvement activities within the context of the ISO registration and will coordinate continuous improvement activities with the management team while coaching employees in the daily use and implementation of lean principles.
Responsibilities of the job include but are not limited to:
- Implementing, developing, defining, maintaining and improving facility ISO procedures (i.e. Manual, document control, Management Review, Cost of Quality)
- Administer and maintain all QMS/ISO 9001 subsystems (i.e. Internal and External non-conformances, Preventative and Corrective Action Process)
- Manage the internal audit system; and review non-conformances and any objectives with team
- Manage the QA Department; works with other QA organizations within the company to promote synergies and best practices.
- Develop and plan necessary QA organization resources by communication with the senior management group and budge process
- Maintain consistent application of continuous improvement tools between departments as job instruction, standard work sheets, etc.
- Track the status of all plant continuous improvement activities, cost savings, training, and events
- Develop performance metrics and standards with goals established for continual improvement of the QMS subsystems and critical processes and business metrics
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree preferably in Engineering or Business Management required with 4-6 years relative experience. Demonstrated Continuous Improvement/Lean manufacturing experience (understanding of 5S, CI, SMED, Root Cause Analysis, 5 Whys, Standard work). Six Sigma experience or certification or Lean Certification preferred. Excellent leadership and facilitation skills required. Ability to use word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations at a novice level.
