Independently negotiates medium complexity and medium risk details. Generally supports a book of business approximately of $5million. Utilizes and effectively applies contract law and category knowledge. Participates in the development of short-term tactics and long-range plans to secure Mayo's business and legal interests resulting in optimal administration and management solutions. Participates in the processes concerning the negotiation, consultation on supplies, distribution agreements, awarding of agreements and supplier performance. Ensures contract compliance for all legal issues. After contracts are negotiated and executed, may assume responsibility for ensuring (directly or through Contract Managers) ongoing contract management (e.g. necessity for amendments or extensions of contracts, compliance to contractual obligations, and/or termination and administration, including change control management. Provides management oversight of the related contract administration processes. Performs analysis such as total cost of ownership for purchase alternatives, analysis of special deals, etc. Represents Mayo in contract dispute resolution with vendors. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Science, Legal or relevant field required. Minimum of 6 years experience with increasing responsibility in negotiating, interpreting and establishing contracts and coordinating closely with legal counsel on contracting and procurement issues, which includes experience with leading cross-functional, multi-disciplinary teams. Other Qualifications: Advanced degree/certification in business administration, healthcare management, finance, law or a related field preferred. Computer competency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point) required. Knowledge and use of materials management software (Lawson and/or Manhattan Associates experience considered a plus) required. Health care experience desired. License or Certification: Relevant professional certification preferred (PMP, CMRP, LEAN Six Sigma, APICS) Benefit Eligible: Yes Exemption Status: Exempt Hours/Pay Period: 80 Schedule Details: Monday - Friday; days Weekend Schedule: N/A Compensation Detail: Education, experience, and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended. The minimum salary every two weeks is approximately $2706.40 based on a full-time position.
